Our budding business- where we stand.
Here is a quick business update for those that are interested.
The Site. We currently have a working version of the site that we are updating, refining and tweaking daily. It is not ready for public consumption since we are still building out many of the unique features. However, we are on track to open the doors for the sneak peak beta in April.
The Community. We are putting the finishing touches on our community value system-- basically what we value in a community and what we hope you value too. Here's some of the words that come to mind when I think of our community: Open, Welcoming, Genuine, Personal, Friendly, Conversational, and Respectful. Now, we need to come up with a catchy way of saying that.... (any takers?) Who wouldn't want to live in that community?
The People. We have had hundreds of people reach out to join our reviewer group in the last month. That is great news! The more opinions the better. Please help spread the word to others too-- by letting them know that they can sign up at www.viewpoints.com. You are always welcome to refer them to me directly. (see email on side) A special thanks to Jo who single handedly referred more than 50 people! Who is our next star referrer?

I'll have the thought of a catchy way of saying "community" on my mind all day.
I wanted to share the following e-mail. I get many. I answer them all. This one was special. It not only addresses why most of us write but why a profile page/blog/ are in my opinion so important. I also understand the desire for anonymity so some will have to work for a balance. I don't believe you, as a reviewer, will gain the same kind of trust with a blank plate that you not only need but want. Not to say it's impossible. Just saying it helps.

Alas, I am not as friendly with as many people in the online world as I used to be. Offline business just pulled me right out of it, but I have mentioned it everywhere I blog, including my SuperSecretNinja (tm) blog only accessible to my closest friends who have taken an oath that they won't mock me for what I say there.
You asked somewhere, I thought, what we intended to review. I've actually stopped reviewing elsewhere so I can ramp up for the number of reviews I'll need to write for Viewpoints. Here are some of the things I'm going to come out of the gate with. Not much great specificity here, all the stuff is in other rooms or still in my head waiting to come out:
1. My ultrasonic jewelry cleaner, which rocks. Not only does it clean jewelry but it does a bang up job on my husband's mouthpiece for his french horn too!
2. My Canon photo printer.
3. Our trip to Key West - where we stayed, etc.
4. My Toyota Prius... Oh how I love thee my Prius... except for your stupid freakin' rattling.
5. My iPod. Really I just want to see if I can be the first person to post an iPod review. Probably not.
6. The online fitness service my Y uses called FitLinxx. It makes me happy.
7. Weight Watchers. Because the 11 pounds I've lost so far also makes me happy.
8. My nifty, schmifty Staples brand rotating desk organizer that was created by those wacky folks on "The Apprentice".
9. My Dymo LetraTag system, which allows me to pretend to be seriously organized even though I'm not.
10. My Circa / Rollabind organizer system. The neatest thing for an organizer-wannabe since sliced bread. Overly priced sliced bread, that is.
