Can you digg it?

As we continue to talk about Community Dynamics 101, I thought this was an interesting read.

Yesterday, Digg founder Kevin Rose explained in his blog post why they removed their list of top users from the home page. Apparently Top Digg users are being offered cash payments to help stories get on the home page. By removing the list, Digg makes it harder to identify the top contributors and "game" the system.

Note to self: I think we have seen this time and time again. The unethical live everywhere-- online and offline. Bribes happen. The key is trying to establish a community of people that generally don't buy into this behavior. But, let's be honest, things happen. So we need to be prepared.

Now, back to yesterday's topic... on REVEALING QUESTIONS to ask of your community members. A few suggestions I received were: pet peeve, charity of choice, favorite dessert. Those are fun, revealing, and I think you can answer them in 60 seconds flat. Perhaps that is the better route.

Ahhhh.... dessert. Why did you need to bring that up? Bananas Foster, here I come. :) Yum.
