The little train that could...
Well, this last week was another eventful week at Viewpoints. We continued to make some product enhancements to the site. Here's a quick peak at some of the new changes:
1. MAPS. When you are looking at a local review, if the reviewer entered the address, you will see a MAP of the location. Pretty cool, hah? (for those reviewing, take a moment to enter the address for the other members!)
2. SUMMARIES. We have started adding summaries to the reviews. Check them out and let us know what you think. (they are intended for those looking for the quick answer!)
3. FAVORITES. You can now favorite a review. Do you stumble upon something on the site and you want to keep it (so that you know later that you want to try it?) Well, now you can favorite it!
4. ICONS. You now have icons on your profile page to help you keep track of your different tabs.
5. HOLIDAY. Next week, we will be featuring our holiday guide and holiday emails. They include some great inspiration for gifts. Be on the lookout.
Would love any feedback that you all may have!!!
Happy almost turkey day. :)

Oh yeah. I found my dentist. He's such a sweetheart. I'm still thinking, "Is he old enough to do this?" He's good though. And there's the map. Super. Very helpful on the local reviews. Maps are very helpful.
Nice touch with the icons. My comment icon button loads slow for getting my comments. Maybe I talk too much though. Could be (-:
"Not much helpful" button etc - thoughts. Good and bad there. Causes some bad juju when listed with names. Can be gamed if no name attached.
Might want to ride it a while. See if the "good point" or "whatever" settles there and sorts. Some folks really are nuts. Some are confused.
I hit report on an odd one. Left a note for the person. She was on the level. Just didn't understand reviewing. She kind of reviewed a recipe? Do what? And didn't give the recipe. I basically asked for the recipe, and she kindly put that up. We got to talking a bit. She was home with a child injured in a wreck. Just reaching out. Stuck at home. So, you never know.
It might work to have a thumbs down hidden button for PC or active users or something. I hate to shift to the "in group" thing, but if VP is careful on selections, then that could work.
CyndiA (thinks she is GrillGirl at this spot)
I love the favorites function. I mean, I really love it!

Hi:) Looks great. I also see recommended by (tags) and overall ratings.
I love the tag tab and can now delete the duplicates and triplicates! Except it means that all reviews tagged with the tag I want to delete gets that tag deleted. What are people doing with the tag option? Are you deleting any? I'll put this on the forum?
The map is cool! I thought I always put in an address but I guess not since it took me 3 tries to find a review with a map so I'll be more aware of that!
I think the favorites might be a way to keep track of reviews we want to write as well.
For me the I AM tags loaded a tad slowly. All in all looks great. Jo
May need some kind of "bury" button. Lots of new stuff coming in. That's super. But someone has put up some guy's phone number for State Farm. I hit report on that. Could be legal probs with things like that.
One of my sons-in-law is an avid NY Giants fan who has pretty much all he wants/needs and I found something in skymall.com that will be a unique Christmas gift... a picture of 4 player shirts hanging in the locker room, and I can have his name put on a jersey along with the three real players. The print comes framed and matted! What more could I ask?
Thumbs up! I especially like the map feature. I saw it this morning on a Hawaii review and it was very helpful. Now all I need is a pile of money so I can visit that hotel in Hawaii!
I have a comment but don't know exactly where it should go or who to send it to. It's about the 25 dollar restaurant gift card. I got mine, but in WV there were only 20 restaurants listed and the closest to me was over 200+ miles. And on the other thing listed you can use the card for you have to spend at least 60 dollars to use the 25 dollar gift card. A friend of mine got hers also and is trying to find someone that can use it. These cards are worthless to people that doesn't live in a large city with millions of restaurants. So how about giving us a 10 dollar wal-mart gift card for writing so many reviews, I would write more just for that, because it would be something I can use. Just an idea, a good one I think. How about it members what do you think, have any of you been able to use the restaurant gift card? Beside me and my friend that lives in Iowa. I love to write reviews but if you want to reward us for it. Give us something we can use. Thanks for reading this review.
