Viewpoints New Products & Features
The last few weeks have been busy on the 4th floor of 444 N. Wells. Chicago has been buzzing with people because there is a major interior designer conference going on. Just kidding! Yes, there is a conference and the streets are buzzing. But, the real work is getting done at yes- you guessed it—our offices.
So, what have we been up to?
Last week we launched EMAIL and RSS.
For those of you that havent checked it out yet, simply go to your profile page and click on the EMAIL tab. You can then mark your settings and tell us what email updates you want and WHEN you want them. It’s pretty cool!
For our readers, we also rolled out a shopping comparison engine at the end of a review. So, if you have a product that we have shopping data on, we will display it for you. Purchasing the product you read about has become WAY easier. This data is provided by shopping.com.
Last night, we rolled out a slew of new changes to the site:
- We add social networking tagging at the review level. So, if you are a furl user, like to “dig” or use sites like stumble upon, we just made your life easier. So—dig and dish away!
- We also launched a new badge icon. You can scan the site and quickly see the level of writer. Our levels are numbered 1- 5. (5 being the Publishers Circle)
- We too are testing some of our advertisement placement so that it is more relevant to our content. So, you should see some changes on the review pages. P.S. It takes a while for google to recrawl the ad units, so don’t be alarmed if they are off for another day or so.
We also have more than you could imagine in the works. Over the next 3 months, we will be introducing:
- I AM tag management—yes, you can now effectively manage your tags (this is cool! Really cool! I want wait for you all to see it. Did I happen to mention that our technology team rocks?)
- Many search improvements
- Tools to manage your “friends”
- And much, much, more….
If you have suggestions on our products or have ideas on how to make the service better, please don’t hesitate to email me directly at jolie(at)viewpoints(dot)com. We always want to hear from you! And trust me, we are very ACTIVE listeners. smile.
