Viewpoints Makes a Few Big Changes Last Night!

Have you been on yet today? Did you notice the changes we made to the site last night?

If not, here is a sneak peak:

1. We introduced RATINGS (aka a soundbite and star rating). Pretty cool. Especially when reviewing something that you only have a little bit to talk about! I tried it out last night on movies-- which I tend not to have much to say about-- and I LOVED IT! Note: You can not comment on a rating or good point it. So, it will never trump a full review! It just helps you share your opinion in a few seconds flat.

2. You can access ratings by clicking on STARS all throughout the site. It brings up a shortened version of the REVIEW FORM.

3. We made some changes to the FULL REVIEW FORM too. We moved the placement of pros and cons, limited the choices of I AM tags to 27 (the other list was overwhelming to most people), and we made most of the fields optional. So, now you dont need to complete them all. However, your contribution will only be considered a REVIEW if you include: at least 250 characters, a soundbite, a rating and some I AM Tags.

Outstanding issues that we are working on:
1. How we will display RATINGS differently than REVIEWS
2. New feedback mechanism on reviews.... replacing GOOD POINT
3. Redesign of some of our key pages like categories, review page and product page

These outstanding issues will be addressed in February & March.

Also, next week we are working on some of the outstanding issues that you guys have brought up. One of them is pagination through your reviews on your profile page and comments page. Right now, you can only see 50 at a time. You will be able to page through them all soon.

Where has she been all my {Viewpoints} life?

Hi All.

I am very pleased to share that Meredith has returned from Spain (sorry, Meredith) and is now "officially" a member of the Viewpoints Team. Meredith will be working with me as our new Community manager. That means she will be working with all of you too!

Meredith's role is to help out in the community as well as with our data integrity. So, if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions related to how things work at Viewpoints, please ALWAYS feel free to reach out to one of us. Also, if you have a problem with a certain review-- how it appears on the site, the title, the photo, a draft, etc please also feel free to reach out. And, lastly, if you think someone in the community is soooo stellar that you want us to know about him/her, then please pass along your praise. We always want to know who you think is great.

I am also asking Meredith to be a guest contributor to this blog so that you can speak with her as well-- and get to know her "voice!" So, please join me as we give her a warm and official welcome to the team!
